Job summary

Bristow Group is seeking qualified VFR helicopter pilots to support offshore oil & gas operations. This Captain role is based in Houma, Louisiana, with a 5 on, 2 off schedule (Monday through Friday) and relocation support plus supplemental compensation.

Candidates must hold a 1st class medical, FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Helicopter Instrument rating, and meet CFR 135.243 requirements; strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold 1st class medical certificate.
• Must hold FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Helicopter Instrument rating.
• 100 helicopter flight hours in the preceding 12 months.
• Must meet CFR 135.243 requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the assigned helicopter safely and in compliance with Bristow standards and regulations.
• Prioritize safety and customer service for all operations.
• Maintain situational awareness of weather, NOTAMs, sea state, and offshore facility status.
• Manage passenger and aircraft movements, briefings, and baggage loading.
• Complete flight planning, preflight checks, fueling, and manifest oversight.
• Keep accurate electronic and paper records (logs, duty sheets, flight times).
• Report aircraft mechanical issues and ensure airworthiness before, during, and after flights.
• Communicate with customers and represent Bristow professionally.
• Be prepared for dispatch to other GOM locations as needed.
• Stay current on Bristow safety procedures and assign duties as needed.
