Job summary

IPT Global is seeking a field technician to support offshore testing and equipment health monitoring using the SureTec platform. You will travel to offshore rigs domestically and internationally to set up, run, and troubleshoot pressure testing and BOP monitoring activities.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of BOP and well control equipment, plus the ability to communicate clearly with crew, regulators, and customers. A degree is not required, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of API 53 and regional regulations for BOP systems.
• Experience reviewing BOP maintenance, inspection, or certification records.
• Demonstrated offshore or rig-based experience in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Go offshore domestically and internationally to set up, run, and troubleshoot SureTec for pressure testing and monitoring.
• Verify BOP compliance across the equipment lifecycle and maintain records.
• Review test results in real time and flag leaks or overdue maintenance.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

• Go offshore domestic and internationally to set up, run, and troubleshoot SureTec for pressure testing, equipment health monitoring and compliance.
• Verify BOP compliance across the full equipment lifecycle. That includes pressure and function testing, inspection and maintenance records, component certifications, and recertification intervals.
• Confirm BOP systems meet operator requirements, API Standard 53, API Spec 16A/16D, and regional regulations, including BSEE (US Gulf of Mexico), Havtil/NORSOK D-010 (Norway), and ANP (Brazil).
• Review test results and equipment data in real time, and flag leaks, anomalies, overdue maintenance, or out-of-spec components before operations move forward.
• Use SureTec equipment health monitoring to track BOP condition and component history, and identify compliance gaps before they become findings.
• Make sure all BOP records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready for regulators, operators, and drilling contractors.
• Support customers during regulatory inspections, third-party verifications, and internal audits by walking through records and explaining how compliance was demonstrated.
• Help rig teams understand changing regulatory requirements across regions and how SureTec helps them stay ahead.
• Be the go‑to expert for the crew. Walk them through results, answer questions, and keep the job moving.
• Train rig personnel and help new customers get comfortable with SureTec.
• Work with our 24/7 real-time monitoring team to support operations around the clock.
• Report back what you see in the field so our products keep getting better.
• Lead by example on safety.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Working knowledge of BOP compliance requirements, including API Standard 53, and experience with regional regulatory
• Experience reviewing BOP maintenance, inspection, or certification records
• Demonstrable offshore or rig-based experience in a role such as subsea tech, BOP tech, driller, assistant driller, toolpusher, well test operator, or similar.
• Hands‑on knowledge of BOP and well control equipment and pressure testing.
• The ability to communicate with everyone from the floorhand to the company man.
• Basic computer skills. We’ll train you on our software.
• Current or obtainable BOSIET/HUET, TWIC, and passport.

A degree is not required. We value rig experience as much as classroom training.
