Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Drilling Engineer to support offshore operations near George, focusing on planning, execution and supervision of drilling campaigns. You will work with rig crews and management to ensure safety, efficiency and environmental compliance in the Oil & Gas sector.

The role requires an engineering degree and at least 5 years of offshore drilling experience, with knowledge of API/IADC standards and strong leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Requires degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years in drilling engineering with offshore focus.
  • Knowledge of drilling techniques, downhole tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with API and IADC standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed drilling programs and contingency plans.
  • Oversee on-site drilling operations, ensuring safety and timelines.
  • Manage equipment, materials, and personnel for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform post-drilling analysis and implement improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigate drilling hazards.
  • Coordinate with service providers and contractors for timely delivery.
