Job summary

Danos, LLC is seeking a Cutting Technician to support safe rig-up, operation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of specialized cutting equipment used in offshore decommissioning. The role requires rotational offshore assignments and onshore support, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include pre-job checks, equipment readiness, documentation, and active participation in mobilization/demobilization

Qualifications

• Offshore survival training (BOSIET/HUET) or equivalent.
• Safety orientation (SafeGulf or equivalent).
• TWIC card and offshore medical clearance.
• Drug/alcohol program compliance as applicable.
• H2S awareness training and rigging/signalperson training.
• Mechanical aptitude with hydraulic systems experience.
• Ability to work rotating schedules and travel by helicopter or vessel.
• Experience with casing, conductor, pile, or structural cutting operations.
• Background in decommissioning campaigns and abrasive cutting systems.
• Confined space, first aid, and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Safely rig up, operate, monitor, and rig down equipment and support systems.
• Verify equipment readiness through inspections and pre-job checks.
• Follow approved procedures, permits, and client requirements.
• Monitor cut quality and equipment performance; report issues promptly.
• Complete accurate job reports, maintenance records, and documentation.
• Support preventive/corrective maintenance and equipment testing.
• Participate in mobilization/demobilization, loadout, and inventory control.
• Attend pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, and permit reviews.
• Inspect equipment, hoses, fittings, guards, and consumables before use.
• Coordinate work steps with client representatives and crews.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues within authority.
• Maintain housekeeping and secure equipment during operations and transit.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions or deviations are identified.
• Assist with commissioning and testing of new or modified equipment.
• Report defects and maintenance needs through established channels.
