Job summary
National Oilwell Varco is seeking a Field Service Technician - Controls/Offshore Cranes in Houston (Hybrid). You will travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on NOV products, perform field software/hardware upgrades, and document field work.
Strong PLC/SCADA troubleshooting and offshore safety readiness are required. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork are essential.
Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years preferred of Controls/Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with PLCs and PLC control systems (Allen Bradley RSLogix500/Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7/TIA Portal).
- Experience with Emerson/Rockwell/Siemens HMI displays.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on NOV products.
- Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on operation.
- Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair NOV lifting and handling equipment.
