Job description

Job Purpose:

The Offshore Commissioning Instrument Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all instrument pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities for assigned offshore systems and subsystems. The role ensures that all instrument systems are completed, tested, commissioned, and handed over to Operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, company standards, commissioning procedures, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise Instrument pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up, testing, and system completion activities for assigned offshore systems and subsystems.
  • Witness and verify EPC Contractor commissioning activities, including SATs, OTPs, inspections, and punch‑list management through to closure.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities across construction, operations, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely project execution.
  • Support system handovers by conducting walk‑downs, reviewing completion dossiers, and ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Monitor commissioning progress using OPERCOM® and ICAPS®, ensuring milestones and system completion targets are achieved.
  • Manage vendor and contractor support during commissioning and start‑up, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure commissioning tools, equipment, and testing resources are available, maintained, and fit for purpose.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure all commissioning activities are performed in accordance with offshore safety requirements, permit‑to‑work systems, and company procedures.
  • Review and validate commissioning reports, certification packages, red‑line mark‑ups, and as‑built documentation to support final handover to Operations.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of offshore oil & gas experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory Instrument Commissioning role.
  • Proven expertise in offshore commissioning, start‑up, system completion, and handover activities on major EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control, and shutdown systems, as well as commissioning methodologies and system completion processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with OPERCOM®, ICAPS®, TotalEnergies General Specifications, and relevant international codes and standards.
  • Proficient in commissioning documentation, punch‑list management, reporting, and handover dossiers.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural project environments.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and commissioning management systems.
