Smurfit Westrock in the United States is seeking an Offset 2nd Pressperson to support the operation of the Offset Press and to be trained across all aspects of the press operation.

You will assist the 1st Pressperson, perform safety and quality checks, prep the press for production, and help train others while maintaining equipment cleanliness and adherence to company policies. Overtime is required.

Qualificações

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; may write routine reports and correspondence; may speak before groups.
• Basic math in all units of measure (add/subtract/multiply/divide) using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Knowledge of and basic computer skills.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed but uninvolved instructions in standardized situations.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the 1st Pressperson in the operation of the Offset Press, including safety and quality checks.
• Operate the press feed section.
• Prep press for next production run (sheets, plates, ink, etc.).
• Assist in meeting safety, quality and production standards.
• Take over the 1st Pressperson's duties during absences.
• Assist in training other press personnel.
• Maintain overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work safely and efficiently per company policies.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

The Offset 2nd Pressperson is responsible for assisting the 1st Pressperson in the overall operation of the Offset Press. This person will be trained in all aspects of the Offset Press operation.

• Assist the 1st Pressperson in the operation of the Offset Press. Including but not limited to performing all safety and quality checks.
• Responsible for the operation of the press feed section.
• Responsible for prepping press for next production run; sheets, plates, ink, etc.
• Must assist the 1st Pressperson in meeting safety, quality, and production standards.
• Must be able to take over the 1st Pressperson's duties during absences.
• Assist in training other press personnel.
• Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed

• High school diploma or GED minimum
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills
