Job summary

Iron Mountain Incorporated seeks a Security Officer for our Phoenix, AZ facility to safeguard people and assets while maintaining professional conduct under demanding conditions.

You will monitor CCTV, respond to alarms, inspect assets during patrols, document activities, and de-escalate potential threats. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Clear communication to inform customers effectively and coordinate with team.
  • Multitasking across multiple security and ticketing systems throughout shift.
  • Attention to detail and strict adherence to safety and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prevent unauthorized entry by monitoring facility access and using security tech.
  • Monitor safety, security, fire alarm systems and CCTV; respond as needed.
  • Conduct routine visual inspections of assets and locations during patrols year-round.
  • Document daily activity and report significant security/safety incidents.
  • De-escalate situations to maintain safety for all individuals in the facility.
  • Provide access for authorized individuals via electronic provisioning.

Officers will have daily interactions with all individuals who enter the facility, including customers, employees, visitors and vendors. The Officer, Safety & Security must maintain a professional demeanor and interact with these individuals in a courteous and professional manner. Training, uniforms, footwear, duty gear, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure you have the tools to be your best in your role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prevent unauthorized individuals/vehicles from entering the facility/restricted areas by using the latest security technology.
  • Monitor safety, security and fire alarm systems, monitor onsite CCTV and respond as needed.
  • Conduct required visual inspection of key assets and locations within the facility through roving foot and vehicle patrols, both inside and on the outside of the facility, throughout the year and in all weather conditions.
  • Appropriately document daily activity and report any significant security and safety incidents.
  • Quickly and effectively assess and de-escalate situations which may present a threat to the safety or security of anyone within the facility is paramount.
  • Electronically provision temporary/permanent access for authorized individuals
Requirements:
  • Applicants must meet all requirements, including customer-contracting requirements, which will require U.S. Citizenship.
  • Effective communicator - clearly convey messages & requirements to inform our customers effectively, share messages between team members.
  • Multitasking - we use several different security and ticket queue systems. Work tasks can change throughout the day.
  • Attention to detail - ability to understand and follow a documented process and Iron Mountain’s safety code, role is very process driven.
  • Technology adept with preferred experience in Access Control systems and ticketing system software Perform basic computer data entry.
