Starting Salary : $55,450 (uncertified); $61,106 (certified)
Shift : 12-Hour Shifts – rotation of every other weekend off; Teams A & B, 5:45 am – 6:15 pm; Teams C & D, 5:45 pm - 6:15 am.

The Nashville International Airport's Department of Public Safety is a certified agency providing police services, aircraft fire rescue, and emergency medical services to airport visitors.
The department adheres to all standards set by the Tennessee POST Commission and is accredited by CALEA.
Hiring Process :
- Applications are reviewed by DPS / Human Resources.
- Qualified applicants are invited to physical and written exams. POST-certified or degree holders may be exempt from the written exam.
- Passing candidates complete and return the Personal History Statement (PHS) within five days.
- Initial background check is conducted. Passing candidates proceed to interviews.
- Panel interviews are scheduled and held.
- Finalists undergo comprehensive background checks.
- Passing finalists are invited for a second interview with the Chief of Police.
- The Chief makes hiring recommendations.
- Contingent job offers are extended.
- Accepted candidates complete psychological and medical exams.

Job Summary :
The Officer protects the public within BNA jurisdiction by reporting hazards, operating ARFF vehicles, and managing traffic control.
- Ensures compliance with MNAA and TSA standards.
- Logs reports and training records.
- Acts as first responder for medical emergencies.
- Handles law enforcement duties, including crime investigation, arrests, and traffic control.
- Performs security sweeps and responds to emergencies.
- Works with other agencies and addresses environmental hazards following OSHA regulations.
- Operates firefighting vehicles and manages traffic.
- Assists individuals in need and maintains safety and attendance standards.
- Supports MNAA’s RISE values and performs additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
- Knowledge of FAA and TSA security programs.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Clear criminal and driving record.
- Minimum age 21, US citizenship.
- Successful completion of medical, psychological, physical fitness, and skills tests.
- Ability to perform shift work and obtain SIDA badge.
- Meeting Distant Visual Acuity and color perception requirements.
Qualifications :
- US Citizen, valid Class D driver’s license.
Uncertified :
- High school diploma/equivalent and 3 years of successful work experience, or military experience with honorable discharge, or EMT certification.
Preferred : Certified :
- POST certification at hire, 2 years of college, and 1-2 years of related experience.
