Serves patients by greeting them, answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, provides general information regarding department services, and maintains records and accounts. Directs citizens to the appropriate area or individual; may answer various inquiries and complaints personally or by alerting appropriate supervisors; provides information on departmental services, resources and functions. Provides general information to staff, clients and the public as it relates to public health programs. Inputs and maintains client records into a specialized electronic health record system ensuring accuracy. Files medical records and other documents. Maintains confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. Must comply with HIPAA rules and requirements to protect the privacy and security of health information. Conducts reminder calls to clients based on their upcoming appointments as it relates to the programs they are enrolled in; such as immunizations.
