Job summary

Linn County LIFTS is seeking a detail-oriented administrator to oversee the administrative operations under the LIFTS Director. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, handling accounts payable, payroll, and reporting while maintaining the county's customer-centered culture.

Responsibilities include training, safety programs, and ensuring compliance with policies and labor agreements; you will also handle inquiries and support dispatch as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business administration or related field.
  • Four (4) years of administrative duties in an office setting, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; para-transit preferred.
  • CDL Class C with air brakes and passenger endorsements within 90 days of hire.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Oversees daily office functions, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to procedures.
  • Monitors data and budgets; provides input to budget offers and KPIs.
  • Administers accounts payable, vendor billing, and revenue collection; submits to departments.
  • Coordinates acquisition of office equipment and supplies; obtains quotes or bids.
  • Completes and verifies payroll information and resolves issues.
  • Addresses internal and external customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
  • Coordinates training, safety programs, and drug/alcohol compliance.
  • Interprets and enforces county policies, labor agreements; improves processes.
  • Attends meetings, prepares correspondence and forms.

Salary:

Minimum: $70,874

Midpoint: $84,320

About the role:

Oversees the administrative operations of Linn County LIFTS under the direction of the LIFTS Director. Supervises staff and ensures work complies with policies and procedures. Administers budgetary, personnel, and accounting processes and procedures for the department.

  • Supervises personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversees daily office functions, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established procedures.
  • Compiles and monitors data in the preparation and monitoring of the office budget. Provides input to budget offers and developing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Administers and prepares accounts payable, vendor billing, and revenue collection; ensures submissions to appropriate departments. Collects and distributes funds.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of office equipment and supplies, obtaining necessary quotes or bids.
  • Completes and verifies employee payroll information and resolves issues.
  • Addresses internal and external customer inquiries and complaints professionally, upholding the County’s customer-centered culture.
  • Coordinates training programs, safety programs, and drug and alcohol compliance as applicable.
  • Interprets and enforces county policies, procedures, and labor agreements. Creates, implements, and evaluates work processes and procedures.
  • Attends meetings or serves on committees, conveying and gathering pertinent information.
  • Prepares correspondence, memos, meeting minutes, and forms as required.
  • Acts as an administrator of office/department systems as assigned. Monitors usage and access.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues. Audits data and creates reports.
  • Fills in for dispatch when necessary.
  • Associate's Degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience performing administrative duties in an office setting, including two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in the para-transit field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills for this position may be considered.
  • Must obtain a CDL Class C with air brakes and passenger endorsements within 90 days of hire.

Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
