Job summary

Senior Helpers of Legacy Trail is seeking a compassionate Caregiver in Frisco to provide in-home support for seniors, helping maintain independence and quality of life. You’ll offer companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation, and personal care.

Flexible shifts and weekend/holiday pay differentials, mileage reimbursement, and Paid Training help ensure career growth in a locally owned agency environment. No prior experience required for training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior home care or caregiving experience preferred.
• Must meet Texas caregiver service requirements.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with insurance; reliable vehicle.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• First Aid / CPR certification preferred; obtain within 60 days.
• Demonstrates tact, patience, compassion, and good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Engage clients in hobbies and activities.
• Monitor for changes in behavior; report promptly.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep.
• Assist with errands, transportation, and appointments.
• Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, and basic care.
• Remind about medications and assist with catheter/ostomy care (empty only).
• Document care activities; use EVV; log hours and services.
• Report significant changes to supervisor immediately.

What Will Our Caregiver Do?

Companionship & Engagement

• Provide meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support
• Engage clients in hobbies, activities, board games, and other appropriate activities
• Monitor Alzheimer’s and dementia clients for behavioral or condition changes and report promptly
• Offer a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence that clients and families can count on

Household & Daily Living

• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and bed-making
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals;assistwith feeding as appropriate
• Assistclients with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments
• Support household management including apparel selection

Personal Care

• Assistwith bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and basic skin and foot care
• Provide toiletingassistance, transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, shower), and ambulation support
• Administer medication reminders andassistwith catheter/ostomy care (empty only)
• Assistwith diaper/brief changes and home exercise plans as directed

Documentation & Reporting

• Document care activities accurately and consistently with agency requirements
• Clock in and out for each shift using the agency’s electronic visit verification (EVV) system; record daily hours worked and services performed
• Report any significant changes in client condition to your supervisorimmediately
• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook

We Would Like Our Caregiver to Have These Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior home care or caregiving experience preferred – notrequired; paid training provided
• Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment
• Must meet Texas State requirements for caregiver services
• Valid Texas driver’s license with no serious violations and current auto insurance
• Reliable personal vehicle required; ability to travel to client homes throughout Friscoand surrounding areas
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
• First Aid / CPR certification preferred; must be obtained within60 daysof hire
• Demonstrates tact, patience, compassion, and good personal hygiene

Experience:

• Home care or direct caregiving experience: Preferred (notrequired)
• Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or Alzheimer’s/dementia clients: A plus
