Job summary

Senior Helpers of Legacy Trail is hiring compassionate caregivers to serve seniors and families in the Little Elm area. Join a locally owned agency that values your work and offers paid training, flexible scheduling, and mileage reimbursement.

As a caregiver you will provide companionship, assist with daily living tasks, monitor client conditions, and support families with reliable, empathetic care close to home.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior home care or caregiving experience preferred – not required; paid training provided.
  • Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment.
  • Must meet Texas state requirements for caregiver services.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with no serious violations and current auto insurance.
  • Reliable personal vehicle required; ability to travel to client homes throughout Little Elm and surrounding areas.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred; must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrates tact, patience, compassion, and good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
  • Engage clients in hobbies, activities, board games, and other appropriate activities.
  • Monitor clients for changes and report promptly.
  • Offer a calm, reassuring presence for clients and families.
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and bed-making.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals; assist with feeding as appropriate.
  • Assist with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments.
  • Support household management including apparel selection.
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and basic skin care.
  • Provide toileting assistance, transfers, and ambulation support.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with catheter/ostomy care (empty only).
  • Assist with diaper changes and home exercise plans as directed.
  • Document care activities accurately and report changes to supervisor.
  • Clock in/out using EVV; record hours and services performed.

What Will Our Caregiver Do?
Companionship & Engagement
  • Provide meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support
  • Engage clients in hobbies, activities, board games, and other appropriate activities
  • Monitor Alzheimer’s and dementia clients for behavioral or condition changes and report promptly
  • Offer a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence that clients and families can count on
Household & Daily Living
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and bed-making
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals; assist with feeding as appropriate
  • Assist clients with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments
  • Support household management including apparel selection
Personal Care
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and basic skin and foot care
  • Provide toileting assistance, transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, shower), and ambulation support
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with catheter/ostomy care (empty only)
  • Assist with diaper/brief changes and home exercise plans as directed
Documentation & Reporting
  • Document care activities accurately and consistently with agency requirements
  • Clock in and out for each shift using the agency’s electronic visit verification (EVV) system; record daily hours worked and services performed
  • Report any significant changes in client condition to your supervisor immediately
  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook
We Would Like Our Caregiver to Have These Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
