Job description

Description

St. Columban Parish in Chillicothe, MO is seeking a full time Office Manager. This position typically performs a significant amount of accounting work in addition to administrative duties and human resources for the parish school. This position reports to the Pastor and requires at least 3 years’ experience with accounting systems and payroll.

Requirements

Essential Duties:
  1. Manage and prepare financial reports and statements including but not limited to monthly/quarterly financial reports and end-of-year fiscal reports.
  2. Meet quarterly with Finance Council and Pastor to review finances.
  3. Process all accounts payable in a timely manner utilizing Quickbooks.
  4. Maintain vendor records.
  5. Function as a liaison between the parish and diocese in completing and providing annual reports including annual budget and fiscal year end reports, SEC reports, and Spirituality reports.
  6. Manage human resources functions, including processing payroll, recruiting, and onboarding. Manage employee paid time off and benefits.
  7. Manage parish offering system, including online giving and contribution records.
  8. Compose and publish a weekly church bulletin.
  9. Maintain church schedules including altar servers and lectors and Mass schedules.
  10. Manage parish communications including phone, mail, email, and website.
  11. Other administrative tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Knowledge in accounting principles, budgeting, general ledger.
  2. Intermediate skills in general ledger systems and Excel.
  3. Proficient skills or ability to learn Microsoft Office and Quickbooks or other accounting software experience.
  4. Strong ability to learn software quickly.
  5. Handle confidential information with integrity.
  6. Maintain a courteous and professional manner.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills-highly collaborative and an effective team member.
  8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines through problem-solving and multi-tasking to achieve results with little oversight.
  9. Practicing Catholic is an extremely valuable asset for this position.
