Job description

Position Summary

Compensation: starting at $20.19 per hour. Employment type: Regular, Non‑Exempt. Weekly hours: 40. Grade: NE10. Department: Administrative Operations.

This position is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the Springer Satellite and provides support to staff, faculty, students, and the community. It proactively analyzes workforce trends and labor market data to align satellite programming with local industry needs. The role collaborates with community stakeholders, business leaders, and academic directors to create innovative educational opportunities and certificate programs addressing regional skill gaps.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a flexible, non‑standard work schedule, including evenings and weekends, to ensure operational coverage.
  • Serve as the college’s outreach representative, actively initiating outreach with local businesses, high schools, and the community to recruit students and promote Luna Community College’s programs.
  • Assist in planning and preparing budgets, funding proposals, and financial reports.
  • Monitor the Satellite’s annual budget, prepare future budget requests, and submit budget adjustment requests as needed.
  • Provide support to faculty, staff, students, and community members as required.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities department regarding custodial needs and additional support.
  • Provide services in conjunction with Academic and Career Placement, Admissions and Recruitment, Bookstore, IT, Financial Aid, Fiscal Office, Registrars, Security, Academic departments, and the Warehouse.
  • Assist students with placement testing, advisement, admission, registration, enrollment, retention, and other support services.
  • Manage and maintain the facility, including assessment and planning of current and new facilities and equipment with the main campus, Physical Plant, and Springer community.
  • Collaborate with the main campus to initiate and administer student recruitment and retention efforts related to the Satellite program.
  • Participate in institutional, professional, and other committee activities.
  • Establish and maintain positive external professional contacts and relationships that support the institution’s strategic goals.
  • Provide student reports as needed.
  • Engage in professional development and adopt best practices related to supervision and service of the college’s constituency.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Rough Rider Mentorship Program.
  • Assist with duties at Las Vegas and other satellite locations when needed.
  • Willingness to work odd hours, weekends, and travel to various sites, school districts, or other meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience coordinating multiple functions in a post‑secondary institutional setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and business leaders to create educational opportunities.
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of surrounding community, employment opportunities, and educational and training needs.
  • Knowledge of procurement and budget processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a field‑based environment and build professional networks.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Familiarity with college policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in standard office equipment, including personal computers and software.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with department staff, faculty, students, and the public.

Work Environment and Physical Factors

May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and will engage in sedentary work. Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, transcribing, and computer use.
