About this Role
As a member of the Facilities team at PEAK6, you will have a big impact on the firm and the employee/guest experience by managing day‑to‑day upkeep of our office space. You will maintain high standards, stay cool under pressure, and help create an outstanding work environment.
This role is 5 days a week onsite in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
- Manage facilities operations within an assigned subregion, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise Facilities Specialists/Coordinators and vendor teams, providing direction and support.
- Oversee daily office upkeep to curate an outstanding employee and guest experience.
- Manage kitchen, coffee, and snack programs – research new options and ensure diverse, cost‑effective offerings to employees.
- Research cost and facilitate orders for groceries, coffee, paper products, office supplies and miscellaneous inventory as needed.
- Take an active role in controlling expenses and inventory; treat company funds as your own.
- Track and manage subregional budgets, including monthly spend and forecast accuracy.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking between vendors or sites.
- Serve as a local escalation point for operational issues or emergencies.
- Partner with Workplace Manager on audits, inspections, and KPI reporting.
- Support Workplace initiatives such as sustainability, culture, and employee experience programs.
- Ensure equipment such as coffee machines, water dispensers, ice makers, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, kitchen tools, utensils, copiers, and A/V equipment are clean and maintained in good working order.
- Conduct daily inspections of all spaces to identify service issues or repairs required.
- Supplement nightly janitorial service with periodic cleanups throughout the day in high‑traffic areas.
- Perform reception duties and begin/end of day tasks – handle guests, phone calls, mail and package service.
- Manage building visitor request system.
- Monitor conference rooms during the day, ensuring they are neat, clean and properly stocked.
- Handle day‑to‑day building issues, report problems, coordinate work and monitor progress of repairs to completion (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
- Build and maintain relationships with building staff; attend building meetings as needed.
- Monitor and assess vendor performance, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with the contracts and to our standards.
- Maintain life safety policy and coordinate yearly fire drills and other applicable training.
- Work with HR to assist with the employee onboarding and termination processes.
- Establish and maintain compliance with office policies (guests, conference rooms, furniture in shared spaces, personal item storage, etc.).
- Maintain furniture inventory and storage rooms.
- Assist with maintenance and movement of fine‑art pieces throughout the office.
- Manage special event setups, breakdowns and execution, equipment requests or room layouts as needed.
- Develop working knowledge of A/V equipment to help troubleshoot issues.
- Serve as point person for maintenance visits, office construction projects, site surveys, etc. as needed by Facilities Manager.
- Assist with tracking of facilities maintenance issues (lights out, repairs to premises, malfunctioning doors/locks, temperature inconsistencies, etc.) – note all issues to Facilities Manager.
- Manage conference room bookings and ensure schedules are kept.
- Run errands for co‑founders as needed.
- Be available in our Chicago office daily.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years office management experience required; previous facilities experience a plus.
- Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to be hands‑on and do whatever is required to get the job done.
- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to think quickly and creatively to solve problems.
- Excellent communication skills across the entire organization and ability to work well with limited supervision.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Flexibility to navigate ambiguity and adjust processes in a rapidly changing environment.

- Base salary range $80,000–$100,000
- Discretionary annual bonus may be eligible
