Job summary

Mace is seeking a capable Civil/Construction professional to support the Gateway Program in New Jersey. You will assist in documents, coordinate with project teams, and help manage submittals and RFIs to keep the project on track.

The role requires a degree in civil/construction, strong organization, and proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office. Hybrid work options are available, and starting salary is around $130k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an engineering or construction office environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, review, and distribution of project documents, including plans, schedules, reports, and correspondence.
• Maintain project records, logs, and documentation in an organized and efficient manner to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to facilitate communication, information flow, and project updates.
• Manage project submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and change orders, ensuring timely responses and adherence to project requirements.
• Assist in the review of design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to identify discrepancies, conflicts, and potential issues.
• Support project quality control processes, tracking non-conformances, and assisting in the resolution of construction-related queries.
• Collaborate with field personnel to ensure that office-based activities align with on-site construction activities and project milestones.

The Project

Mace, as part of MPA delivery partner joint venture of Mace-Parsons-Arcadis, have been selected as the Gateway Development Commissions partners of choice to support the GDC across the Gateway Program in New York, inclusive of the Hudson Tunnel Project.

The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. A milestone project supported by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the project is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

You’ll Be Responsible For

The estimated starting salary for this position is $130k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
