Job summary

Toole Design seeks an experienced Director to lead its Los Angeles office. You will guide a talented team, partner with company leadership and external partners, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture while overseeing project delivery.

A civil engineer with PE preferred, you should have at least 12 years of experience, including 5+ years in consulting, and demonstrated success pursuing and winning publicly bid work. This is a rare opportunity to influence communities across the West.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil engineering, PE preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting firm or similar.
• Recent experience in and active relationships with Los Angeles-area public sector agencies.
• Experience managing staff and pursuing and winning competitively bid work.
• Experience solving problems, providing high level client service, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead a talented team in the Los Angeles office and serve as a liaison with company leadership and external partners.
• Pursue and win work that meaningfully impacts communities and ensure equity-centered project delivery.
• Mentor and recruit staff; oversee projects and maintain high-quality, on-time, on-budget results.
• Collaborate with regional and national colleagues to strengthen the practice and support operations.
