Trinity River Authority of Texas is seeking an Office Coordinator II to support personnel/employee relations at a TRA project or regional office. This role works under general supervision to implement company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating and documenting personnel functions, notifying supervisors of performance reviews, assisting with benefits eligibility, audits and budgets, and providing secretarial and bookkeeping support.

Qualifications

  • Two years of personnel, payroll or benefits administration experience.

  • Assist with special audits, reports and projects as required and may assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Provide secretarial and bookkeeping services, and ensure the accuracy and promptness of these services.
  • Coordinate scheduling of facility, conference rooms, tours, meetings, etc. for outside groups and ensure proper preparation for these events.
  • May perform bookkeeping activities for multiple projects.
  • Perform duties to ensure that all management personnel have current policies and procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a position primarily responsible for duties pertaining to personnel/employee relations at a TRA operating project or regional office. This position works under general supervision to carry out responsibilities based on set policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WORK LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not regularly provide work leadership or full personnel management to any employees.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Processes procurement of project equipment and supplies as approved by project manager. Makes purchases of office materials and supplies as needed for project meetings and events with prior supervisor's approval.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required and Bachelor degree in Business Administration preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience in personnel, payroll or benefits administration.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, etc.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to read and interpret budget reports, policy and procedures manual and employee benefit information. Must also draft internal and external correspondence within area of responsibility. Must possess the ability to deal with confidential matters and work effectively with employees and the general public. Some math required. Individuals must be able to communicate effectively with others.

GUIDANCE RECEIVED

Receives periodic supervision and uses guidelines/range of procedures. Follows periodic direct instructions and guidelines, uses policies and procedures that require some interpretation. Problems that cannot be addressed through an existing guideline, policy or procedure are referred to supervisor or more senior position. Incumbent must exercise judgment about whether to escalation issues.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are almost always carried out in an office environment.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Office machines including typewriter, computer, printer, calculator, copy machine, shredder, facsimile, postage machine and two-way radio.
