Job summary

State of California, Department of Transportation, invites applications for the Office Chief of Construction - South in Merced County. This senior leadership role oversees District 10 Construction projects, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and adherence to budgets and policies.

The position is permanent full-time with a hybrid telework option and a salary range of $13,892 to $15,782 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum of the classification or the alternate range

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
• One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior level engineer in the California state service.
• Or one year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service and two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in the California state service.
• Or broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to the senior level engineer in the California state service.

Responsibilities

• Manage District 10 Construction projects of varied size, levels and complexity and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure projects are within scope, budget and in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Oversee overall quality of projects and compliance with definitions in the Duty Statement.
