Our agency is looking to fill a full-time, non-permanent Office Assistant (OA3) position within the Community Corrections Division.

This position works for the Spokane Special Assault Unit (SAU) located at 1717 West Broadway, Spokane, WA 99201. This non-permanent (temporary) appointment is expected to last about six months.

The Spokane SAU supervises a caseload of registered individuals who have been convicted of a sex offense by the Superior Court. Exposure to sensitive material is common.

Under general supervision from the Administrative Assistant 4 (AA4), this position performs file management and routine, advanced clerical support tasks for the AA4, Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS), and Community Corrections Officers (CCOs). Working independently, you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments and perform duties involved with working at the reception desk. Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Ability to file, use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers, the public, and criminal justice agencies/stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Two years of clerical experience with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Possess an unrestricted driver's license valid in the state of Washington.
  • Customer service and/or front counter experience.
  • Experience with a multi-line phone system.
