Probation-Pretrial-Parole
Provides general administrative support on assigned special projects from the Probation Officer 3. Maintains tracking of urinalysis and portable breathalyzer tests, tracking of probation/parole violations filed, and updates templates for the FPO as necessary. Notarizes documents. Covers front desk when all Criminal Justice Technicians are out of the office.

Being a part of the Division of Pretrial, Probation, Parole you are contributing to improve the successful community reintegration of pretrial defendants, probationers, and parolees.
The Fairbank Adult Probation Field Office is responsible for a geographic area extending from the Alaska Range to the Brooks Range, including the Tanana and Yukon River watersheds. The daily work environment includes interaction with defendants, victims, the court, and community partners to enhance effective supervision and community safety.
We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:
Education from an accredited college may substitute for six months of the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience).
"High school diploma equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older.

Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
All Department of Corrections employees are required to be fingerprinted. The successful candidate must pass a criminal history check.
