Job summary

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is seeking an administrative support professional to greet visitors, answer calls, and assist with routine clerical work at our Minnesota location. The role includes scheduling, filing, mail distribution, and processing payments, with opportunities to support National Service Officers.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, up to seven years of administrative experience, and strong communication and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–7 years of administrative or clerical experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • General knowledge of legal and/or medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk and reception support, including greeting visitors and answering calls.
  • Respond to general veteran inquiries and route complex matters appropriately.
  • Prepare basic correspondence, reports, and forms.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic files.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars as directed.
  • Process membership payments and routine transactions.
  • Operate standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, fax machines).
  • Support National Service Officers with administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

  • Physical Demands: Job requires sitting up to eight hours a day and standing up to two to four hours a day. Body movement primarily in hand and arm functions associated with normal office activities. Requires occasional lifting and/or carrying of no more than 25 pounds, and bending, squatting, pushing and pulling.
