Job summary

Arundel Lodge is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our nonprofit team in Edgewater, MD. The Purchasing Coordinator works closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensure materials and supplies are available when needed, manages purchasing activities, tracks orders and deliveries, and supports forecasting and purchasing reports.

  • 3+ years in purchasing, procurement coordination, supply chain, or a related field
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders
  • Working knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, supply planning, and material coordination
  • Experience with vendor communication and price negotiation
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and other purchasing, reporting, or inventory management tools

Responsibilities

  • Support demand planning activities and maintain accurate forecasts to guide purchasing decisions
  • Create, track, and update purchase orders based on supply needs and organizational priorities
  • Monitor inventory levels to help prevent shortages and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors and assist with resolving delivery and order-related issues
  • Monitor order status and support on-time delivery of materials
  • Prepare purchasing and inventory reports and analyze data to identify trends and process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to coordinate supply plans, timelines, and material requirements
  • Support improvements to purchasing systems, procedures, and reporting processes
  • Provide clear communication, timely follow-up, and effective day-to-day coordination
  • Support and communicate purchasing procedures as needed, including assisting with training
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with organizational policies

We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team and support efficient purchasing operations, inventory planning, and supplier coordination.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator works closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensure materials and supplies are available when needed. This position manages purchasing activities, tracks orders and deliveries, monitors inventory levels, and supports forecasting and purchasing reports.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in purchasing or procurement. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Additional Requirements
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Successfully complete agency-required background, drug, and TB screenings
  • Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment with interruptions and varying environmental stimuli
  • Demonstrate commitment to confidentiality, teamwork, and organizational policies
