Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced leader to own the strategy, roadmap, and operations of the Microsoft 365 platform in a high-security environment. You will drive governance for Exchange Online, plan upgrades, and manage email security programs across global tenants.

You will oversee mailbox provisioning, retention, and threat protection, implementing Zero Trust principles and ITIL-aligned processes while coordinating with cybersecurity teams and vendors.

Job description

• Own the strategy, roadmap, architecture, and operations of the Microsoft 365 platform
• Lead Microsoft 365 tenant administration and governance
• Ensure platform availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance
• Manage service lifecycle planning, upgrades, feature adoption, and platform optimization
• Lead global administration of Microsoft Exchange Online
• Manage email routing, mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and SMTP infrastructure
• Oversee mailbox provisioning, migrations, retention, archiving, and lifecycle management
• Lead enterprise email security, phishing prevention, business email compromise protection, and email threat management
• Administer Proofpoint Email Security, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Advanced Threat Protection, anti-phishing policies, Safe Links, Safe Attachments, and impersonation protection
• Monitor and respond to email-based threats and investigate phishing incidents with Cybersecurity teams
• Manage Secure Email Gateway, TAP, Email DLP, Threat Intelligence, Phishing Protection, URL Defense, and Email Encryption
• Implement SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and domain protection
• Create executive reporting on email threat trends and security metrics
• Strengthen Microsoft 365 security posture and lead security assessments and remediation efforts
• Implement Zero Trust security principles across Microsoft 365 services
• Administer Microsoft 365 tenant services, security baselines, configurations, and governance processes
• Support Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, Federation Services, MFA, Conditional Access, and Identity Governance
• Oversee integration with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, device compliance, Azure Services, and enterprise authentication platforms
• Establish KPIs, SLAs, operational dashboards, and service reporting
• Drive incident, problem, change, and capacity management processes
• Manage vendor relationships with Microsoft and Proofpoint
• Develop automation strategies for platform administration and support
• Ensure alignment with ITIL and ServiceNow processes
• Conduct platform risk assessments and remediation planning
• Support security audits, compliance reviews, regulatory requirements, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

Requirements

• Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
• Deep skills in Exchange Online
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, engineering, governance, security, and lifecycle management
• Knowledge of Proofpoint Email Security and Microsoft Defender for Office 365
• Experience with anti-phishing programs, threat prevention, tenant governance, and email security
