Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a professional to develop, implement, and maintain offender rehabilitation programs across the prison system, including education, correctional programs, counseling, and community partnerships.

This full-time role requires certification eligibility, background check, drug screening, a valid driver's license, and will coordinate with custody staff while supporting state benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
• Knowledge of services available to individuals from the community and other public and private programs.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining one or more programs for offenders in education; correctional programs; and supportive counseling.
• Working with community agencies to enrich programs and establish new programs.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of community volunteer workers assigned to program activities.
• Supervising and evaluating the job performance of subordinate staff.
• Coordinating program activities with custody staff.
