Job summary

The State of Oklahoma Department of Corrections seeks a Correctional Case Manager to classify and assign offenders and provide routine social casework to support re-entry into the community.

Levels I–III describe increasing responsibilities from entry tasks to advanced counseling, program delivery, and coordination with community partners. A bachelor’s degree is required; substitution with related experience may apply. Lexington Assessment & Reception Center supports equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in correctional facilities or offender casework preferred.
  • Strong interviewing and counseling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess offenders' security risks and programmatic needs; prepare case history reports and recommend program assignments.
  • Review offender records to determine progress or adjust classifications; serve on the classification unit.
  • Advise offenders on personal problems, employment resources, vocational skills, educational needs and institutional adjustment.
  • Deliver programs to aid re-entry into the community after release.
  • Prepare parole summaries or pre-sentence investigations.
  • Manage mail for offenders and coordinate with staff.
  • Develop, monitor and amend offender transition plans with community partners.
  • Establish partnerships for pre- and post-release services with family and community resources.
