Job summary

Rochester Precision Optics, LLC is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Technician to support production and facility equipment on the off shift. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and control systems to keep equipment running and minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on experience with motors, drives, sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision on off-shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, facilities, or similar environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in a production environment.
• Experience working with motors, drives, sensors, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of 120/240V and 480V 3-phase power.
• Independent work on off-shifts with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of Lockout/Tagout safety practices.
• Clear communication on equipment status and repairs.
• Strong problem-solving with hands-on troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production and facility equipment.
• Diagnose equipment problems in a manufacturing environment and restore equipment to service.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial control systems and power distribution equipment (up to 480V 3-phase).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Assist with troubleshooting of automated systems and control interfaces (PLC/HMI experience helpful).
• Perform preventive maintenance including inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of worn components.
• Document work performed and communicate issues clearly to team members.
