Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Niles is seeking an Off-Shift Production Supervisor to join its Operations Department. Under the direction of an Area Lead, this position provides leadership and coaching to ensure safety, meet customer demands, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include maintaining production and quality records, directing Lean initiatives such as 5S and TPM, and coordinating with Operations, Maintenance and EHS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Engineering/Business and 3+ years in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all EHS policies are followed.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions to meet goals.
• Identify and implement improvement plans.
• Solve problems to their root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Communicate effectively within and outside the work group.
• Maintain all production and related quality assurance records.
• Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to people in assigned area.
• Manage employee and labor relations including contract administration and grievances.
• Meet or exceed production goals including on-time delivery.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, standardized work, TPM, product flow).
• Own cost savings initiatives and oversee clocking procedures for hourly workers.
