Qualifications

• Law degree or compliance qualification required.
• Significant experience advising on US sanctions matters (OFAC).
• Knowledge of US antiboycott laws and export controls a plus.
• Knowledge of European and Canadian sanctions a plus.
• Experience in commodities trading, energy, shipping, or related industry.
• Strong analysis, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to balance regulatory with commercial needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong judgment and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Act as OFAC sanctions compliance officer for Gunvor's US ops.
• Oversee sanctions screening, due diligence, and transaction reviews.
• Serve as primary contact for sanctions-related KYC escalations.
• Provide sanctions advice to traders and legal/compliance teams.
• Monitor sanctions developments and communicate impacts.
• Deliver OFAC training and maintain documentation.
• Support continuous enhancement of sanctions controls and risk assessments.
