Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel with strong legal writing skills in pharmaceutical/medical device Daubert and Rule 702 motions to join its Litigation group. This position is open to any U.S. office and requires a JD with bar admission in applicable jurisdiction.

The candidate should have an MD/PhD-level science background, 8+ years of experience, and extensive brief-writing experience. Experience with products liability and pharma/medical device industries is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must have a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology).
  • 8+ years of experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Extensive experience drafting briefs including Rule 702 and Daubert issues.
  • Experience with products liability and pharmaceutical/medical device industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Communicating with clients.
  • Supervising associates.
  • Working with experts.
  • Assisting with fact development and depositions.
  • Helping develop case strategy.
