Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller BW Packaging is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist – OEM to develop and execute sourcing strategies for OEM equipment and services within Automation and Integration projects. The role spans multiple locations: Romeoville, IL; Lynchburg, VA; Akron, OH, with up to 20% travel to OEM sites and client locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Purchasing or Strategic Sourcing, preferably Capital Equipment.
• MRP and supply chain knowledge required.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong follow-through.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• CPM certification is desirable.
• Willingness to travel to OEM sites and client locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop OEM sourcing strategies balancing total cost, quality, technical capability, delivery, service, and supply risk.
• Negotiate supplier contracts including pricing, payment terms, delivery, freight, and penalties.
• Coordinate with Applications to obtain supplier quotations, cost information, and delivery commitments.
• Serve as liaison between Packaging’s Automation and Integration team and suppliers throughout the order process.
• Monitor supplier performance and align with margin objectives and cash flow requirements.
• Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system and track backlog with Project Managers.
• Analyze requirements to ensure timely PO placement and coordinate logistics.
