Summary of the Position

The OEM Applications Engineer is a hybrid technical support role focused on guiding OEM customers in selecting and integrating high-quality, reliable components into their systems. As a key member of a cross-functional team, in addition to sales support, this individual is the first point of technical contact and ensures customer requirements are met through technical validation, field support, and collaborative engineering efforts, contributing to successful product integration and customer satisfaction.

Location: Remote within the U.S.

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience, OR
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in the compressor/processed gas industry
• Technical understanding of compressors or processed gas/oil and gas industry, system integration, and application engineering
• Ability to travel up to 40% across North America

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with processed gases or oil and gas industry
• Demonstrated success in a customer-facing engineering or technical support role
• Knowledge of compressor performance curve generation, efficiency mapping, performance mapping, and/or performance simulation software
• Prior experience supporting global direct customers across regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, AU, China)
• Familiarity with BOMs, marked-up engineering drawings, and technical documentation for mechanical components
• Ability to lead technical conversations and serve as the primary liaison between engineering, sales, and the customer
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison between OEM customers and internal cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Quality and Warranty
• Support the OEM business on both Hitachi and Sullair product lines
• Utilize performance software to provide performance curves and simulations under various load conditions
• Deliver accurate and detailed pre-engineered product data including BOMs, drawings, and part numbers
• Provide package design recommendations and validate system integration parameters
• Facilitate the transition of technical documentation and project knowledge
• Maintain and organize comprehensive technical data and project files
• Support development of new components and systems through collaboration with Engineering and customers
• Coordinate and ensure alignment with regional requirements
• Present project timelines, technical scopes, and deliverables to OEM stakeholders
• Support field issue resolution and post-sale service in coordination with the service and logistics teams
• Present and educate customers on OEM products and applications
