Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an ODR Fellow to assist with investigations under the Office for Dispute Resolution, gaining practical experience in Title IX, Title VI, and related federal civil rights laws. You will work with seasoned investigators in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

The position emphasizes legal analysis, writing, and procedural work in education and employment settings, with opportunities for advancement upon successful terms.

Qualifications

• J.D. required; at least three years of related professional work experience (non-legal work acceptable).
• Excellent analytical and writing skills; strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with diverse university community.
• Familiarity with federal statutes relevant to postsecondary education (Title IX, FERPA) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Investigators with case evaluation, planning, interviews, and processing closures/dismissals.
• Conduct documentation activities for investigations: notetaking, redaction, letters/reports, exhibits, casefile maintenance.
• Perform legal research and prepare internal memoranda.
• Ensure documents comply with FERPA and privacy expectations.
• Assist with trainings and outreach for ODR and CSNDR.
• Conduct informational meetings with community members regarding policies and procedures.
