Job summary

Empower Manufacturing is seeking an OD Grinder Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC and/or manual OD grinders, inspect workpieces with micrometers, Arnold gauges, snap gauges, and dial indicators, and ensure accuracy of runout and diameter specifications.

The role emphasizes reading customer prints, maintaining surface finish quality, following work orders, and upholding safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual OD grinders.
• Ability to read customer prints and specs with high accuracy.
• Proficiency with Arnold gauges, micrometers, snap gauges, and dial indicators.
• Physical ability to lift materials regularly.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain precise surface finishes and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual OD grinders.
• Read and interpret customer drawings, prints, and specifications to meet production requirements.
• Use micrometers, Arnold gauges, snap gauges, and dial indicators to inspect and measure workpieces.
• Dress grinding wheels to maintain consistent quality and ensure required surface finish.
• Ensure workpieces meet precise runout and diameter specifications.
• Follow company-provided work orders and instructions with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Frequently lift and move materials in accordance with job demands.
