Job summary

Medix is seeking a Repair Technician to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, optical, electronic, and software issues on OCT devices and other ophthalmic equipment, performing calibrations, alignments, testing, and functional checks to ensure accurate operation, and completing work orders and repair documentation.

You will collaborate with R&D and service teams, maintain inventory and up-to-date SOPs, and follow safety, quality, ESD, and regulatory requirements in Lombard, IL.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, optical, and electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience troubleshooting PC systems, motor controls, and software issues.
• Microsoft Office experience; SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to work with small and delicate optical and electronic components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in an ESD-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electronic, optical, and software issues on OCT devices and other ophthalmic equipment
• Perform calibrations, alignments, testing, and functional checks to ensure equipment is working accurately
• Complete work orders and repair documentation in a timely manner
• Work with R&D and service teams to troubleshoot equipment and installation issues
• Maintain inventory and keep SOPs and documentation up to date
• Follow all safety, quality, ESD, and regulatory requirements
