The New School invites applications for a Student Assistant of Communication and Engagement within the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). The role supports social media, newsletters, events, and engagement outreach for the international student community.
Work is on-campus, 10 hours per week during the academic year (34 weeks). Salary ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour, with a flexible schedule to coordinate with the ISSS Director and events calendar.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) assists international students and scholars to maintain their immigration records and also holds events for international students. We are currently seeking 1 Student Assistant of Communication and Engagement to assist with the operations of our office.
This position is for 34 weeks and runs for the duration of the Academic Year - (start of the Fall semester until end of Spring semester) Student Assistant will not work during summer break, winter session, and spring break. The Student Assistant for Engagement will work closely with the ISSS Director to coordinate communication and engagement efforts of the international student community at The New School. This would include coordinating social media, Newsletter, event planning and coordinating, developing signage, and moderating webinars.
Position Hours: 10 hours per week
Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Work Mode: On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.
Additional Information: Please be sure to include the hours you are able to work. This position must be able to cover virtual drop-in hours Tues, Thur 2pm - 4pm = 4 hours. The remaining 6 hours can be scheduled based on the Assistant’s availability during ISSS business hours of Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm.
