Job summary

TransMedics is seeking an OCS Specialist to maximize use of the Organ Care System for retrieval, transport and assessment of organs. You will train across organ platforms, support OCS cases and communicate with hospital teams.

The role includes on-call duties, documentation and possible travel within the US and internationally as needed. The candidate should have a BSN or BS with 2+ years clinical experience, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• BSN or BS degree with 2+ years of ICU/ECMO/Cath Lab/OR/Transplant/ED experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete OCS training and certification across organ platforms at the training facility.
• Apply OCS knowledge during organ retrieval, preservation and transport per TransMedics protocols.
• Support OCS cases and provide real-time updates to Organ Management Phone Support.
• Perform on-call duties, documentation and post-case reviews as required.
• Assist with training, inventory management and R&D activities as assigned.

Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYThe OCS Specialist maximizes and supports the use of the OCS for organ retrieval and transport prior to, during and after transplantation.RESPONSIBILITIESThis position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Completion of rigorous hands-on training and OCS certification across all organ platforms atTransMedics’ training facility in Andover, MA.Apply OCS knowledge during organ retrieval, preservation, transport, and assessment accordingto TransMedics protocols and policies.When not on OCS call days, perform assigned tasks during standard working hours, eitherremotely from home or as assigned, including but not limited to:Managing inventory & shipments on a weekly basisAssist with Lab TrainingsParticipate in R&D activities in labAssist with establishing launch pointsParticipate in medical and scientific conferences and meetings (inside or outside the US)Communicate regularly with Organ Management Phone Support to relay real time updates whilesupporting ongoing OCS casesRegularly communicate OCS utilization activities and users’ feedbackAnnual recertification on all organ platformsTimely submission of post case documentation and preparation/presentation of case reviews(with support and review of senior colleague) following the use of the OCSProvide customer support as needed (e.g. hospital in-services & refresher training)Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required.MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESThis position manages the following positions on a daily basis.This position will not have management responsibilities.PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTESMust be able to lift 75lbs up and down stairs.Must be fully vaccinated (and boosted, when eligible) against respiratory viruses including but not limited to Influenza and COVID-19. However, given that the vaccination requirement is often a condition to our work at hospitals, and being on-site at hospitals is an essential function of the position of an OCS Specialist, there are limits on our ability to provide accommodations that do not pose an undue burden to the Company.Ability to work on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, for 15 days per month (including holidays/weekends)Ability to fly domestically to clinical sites within and outside of home regions to perform OCS support as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBSN or BS degree in combination with equivalent medical experience, with 2+ years’ experience in ICU, ECMO, Cath Lab, OR, Transplant, and ED.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platformsHighly flexible and willing to support sites as needed within and across regionsDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsStrong problem-solving skillsOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively and buildrapport with internal and external contactsExcellent customer interaction skillsWorks calmly and professionally under pressureEnthusiastically works in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasksTransMedics is committed to equitable and transparent compensation. The expected base salary range for this role is $100,900 -125,900 which represents the company’s current good-faith estimate of compensation for this position. Actual salary will depend on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific work location. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources).
