Job Description
The OCIP Program Coordinator will serve as the internal coordinator and subject matter resource for the organization’s Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) across a diverse portfolio of healthcare capital projects. This portfolio includes acute care hospitals, replacement hospitals, medical office buildings (MOBs), ambulatory care centers, outpatient clinics, specialty facilities, infrastructure upgrades, and campus development projects throughout the health system.
This individual will support the implementation, administration, and ongoing coordination of the OCIP program while working closely with construction project managers, facilities leadership, risk management, design and construction teams, contractors, brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators. While not directly managing the insurance program, this person will provide guidance, oversight, and coordination to ensure projects remain compliant with program requirements, minimize risk, and support the successful delivery of healthcare construction initiatives.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for OCIP-related processes, requirements, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate the rollout and ongoing administration of the OCIP program across multiple concurrent healthcare construction projects.
- Partner with project managers, construction teams, risk management, finance, legal, and external partners to ensure program compliance.
- Maintain project enrollment records and track contractor participation across active construction projects.
- Work with project teams to identify which contractors and subcontractors should be enrolled in the program.
- Monitor contractor onboarding, enrollment, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Facilitate communication between project leadership, insurance carriers, brokers, safety teams, and third-party administrators.
- Support collection and reporting of payroll, insurance, claims, and project participation data.
- Develop and maintain OCIP procedures, templates, guidance documents, and training materials.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and provide ongoing guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with project managers overseeing new construction, renovations, facility expansions, campus developments, infrastructure improvements, and modernization projects.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors understand OCIP requirements while operating in active healthcare environments.
- Support risk mitigation efforts on projects located within occupied facilities where patient safety, infection prevention, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance are critical considerations.
- Collaborate with facilities, construction, and operational leaders to ensure consistent application of OCIP requirements across the enterprise capital portfolio.
- Identify risks, process gaps, or compliance concerns and escalation issues appropriately.
- Provide regular program status updates and reporting to leadership.
- Assist with claims coordination and issue resolution as needed.
Pay rate for this position ranges from $50 - $65/HR based upon experience.
