Job summary

LightFeather is seeking an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State in modernizing and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments. You will design, implement, and optimize OCI solutions while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

This full-time, hybrid position requires four days onsite and one remote day per week, located in Washington, DC. An active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret is required, with salary ranging from

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• 0
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Cloud Engineer with at least two years specifically with OCI.
• Strong knowledge of OCI compute, storage, IAM, networking, and database services.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with cloud security, compliance, and monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage OCI services including compute, networking, storage, and databases.
• Configure and maintain VCNs, subnets, gateways, and load balancers for mission-critical apps.
• Implement cloud security best practices aligned with federal frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Develop and maintain IaC scripts using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Monitor system performance, optimize costs, and ensure high availability across OCI environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OCI-related issues and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on migrations and modernization.
• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes.
