Earthjustice seeks a Project Attorney for Oceans to work on U.S. ocean protection matters from Seattle or San Francisco. It is a 2.5-year term starting January 2027, with in-person attendance required in the Seattle or San Francisco offices.

Qualifications

• Law school graduate with active bar membership and admitted to the relevant state bar.
• 2–5 years of post-law school legal experience.
• Excellent research, analytic, writing, and communication skills.
• Commitment to serving the public interest and Earthjustice's mission.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Earthjustice attorneys and partners on strategies to protect U.S. ocean law.
• Conduct factual and legal research, drafting, and cross-organizational coordination.
• Represent Earthjustice in meetings with partner organizations (virtual and in-person).
• Support cases by building evidence and advocating for policies to protect oceans.
• Engage with clients and experts to clarify facts and litigation goals.
