Job summary

Center for Biological Diversity is seeking a Campaigner for the Oceans program. The role focuses on planning, executing, and winning strategic campaigns to advance policy goals, build power with allies, and influence decision-makers.

Reporting to the Oceans Program Director, the position emphasizes coalition work, organizing protests and strategic outreach, plus strong research and communication skills. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of campaign experience.
• Proven experience in creating and implementing winning, strategic outreach, education and/or advocacy campaigns.
• Sound judgment in resource allocation and tactic choice.
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work with coalitions and inclusivity.
• Willingness to work 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Craft and execute campaign plans across legal, policy and organizing initiatives.
• Develop and run campaigns at national, regional, state and local levels.
• Coordinate with program staff on campaigns to reach goals.
• Build partnerships and coalitions with local, national and international organizations.
• Organize meetings and lead discussions to maximize engagement and shared ownership.
• Communicate with media, decision-makers and the public through writing and outreach.
• Organize and promote participation in hearings, protests and events.
• Lobby and meet with policy makers.
• Create compelling written materials for campaigns.
