Job summary

Lynker Corporation seeks a Scientist II to support NOAA's Office of Coast Survey (OCS) National Bathymetric Source Operations. You will assist with hydrographic data processing, deconfliction, and updating bathymetric models within GIS environments.

The role involves developing mapping standards, improving workflows, and collaborating with OPS and Dev teams. Travel once per year is required. Lynker provides strong benefits and ESOP ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hydrography, ocean mapping, physical science, marine science, oceanography, physics, or related field; 4 years of work experience acceptable.
• 3–5 years of GIS data analysis, data management, and hydrographic data processing.
• Experience with Python programming and geospatial software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing, reviewing, and qualifying hydrographic and topographic data in a GIS environment.
• Assist with producing and quality assuring deconflicted bathymetric products.
• Assist with updating and maintaining bathymetry models as sources and workflows evolve.
• Assist with standardizing and improving documentation for the NBS program.
• Assist with creating and optimizing workflows for hydrography, physics, and geodesy related to NBS.
