Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Manager in North Miami, FL who will lead ocean freight operations for perishable and time-sensitive cargo. The role blends operational leadership with business development responsibilities, requiring deep knowledge of refrigerated cargo, carrier coordination, and customs documentation.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in freight forwarding or international logistics, plus meaningful cruise logistics or marine procurement experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
5-7 years of freight forwarding or international logistics experience.
Meaningful cruise logistics, marine procurement, or cruise supply chain experience.
Experience with ocean freight, reefers, perishable or temperature-controlled cargo.
Leadership in high-pressure logistics environments.
Strong maritime relationships and knowledge of international shipping docs.
English proficiency; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the ocean freight team and maintain service standards.
Oversee planning, booking, monitoring, and delivery of shipments.
Support refrigerated/temperature-controlled cargo movements under cold-chain rules.
Coordinate with carriers around vessel schedules and tight deadlines.
Ensure compliance with shipping docs, customs, and carrier requirements.
Develop client and carrier relationships and drive business development.
Monitor performance and address service issues as they arise.
