Job summary

CIRES at the University of Colorado Boulder is hiring a datamanager to support NOAA’s NCEI. Based in Boulder, you will steward ocean acoustic data, provide public access, and support global data users while collaborating with scientists and engineers.

The role requires managing large, complex datasets with strong organizational and communication skills, and offers hybrid work and a robust training program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marine science, Earth science, data science, or STEM field is required.
• Experience working with and/or managing environmental data.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the passive acoustic data archive (50%).
• Coordinate submissions with the community and archive team to shepherd data submissions and identify enhancements.
• Maintain relational databases to enable discovery and access to data.
• Support the water column sonar data archive.
• Self-manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
