Job summary

TalkNY Therapy is seeking part-time or full-time Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists to provide remote therapy to a diverse client population. All sessions are conducted via a virtual platform, primarily Zoom, and target both children and adults.

Ideal candidates hold an MHC-LP or are pursuing one, with the ability to complete progress notes within 24 hours, perform intakes and treatment planning, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling (MHC-LP preferred).
• Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance needed upon hire.
• Ability to work independently and communicate emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote mental health therapy with children and adults via telehealth.
• Complete initial intakes, treatment plans and progress notes.
• Maintain client charts and complete documentation within required timeframes.
• Engage in case management, care coordination, and collaboration with referral sources.

Job description

We are seeking part/full time (15+ hours weekly preferable) Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists that have already graduated to provide mental health counseling to a diversified patient population using evidence-based therapy approaches.

Responsibilities

The therapist in this position will be responsible for conducting remote mental health therapy with children and adults. All direct therapy will be delivered via a virtual platform; therefore the candidate must be comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom.

Requirements

This position will work directly with TalkNY clients to provide mental health services/therapy covering a variety of concerns (i.e. anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, relationships, etc…). Key requirements for this position are as follows:

• MHC-LP (or working towards MHC-LP)
• Complete progress notes and updated calendar within 24 hours of time of service.
• Complete initial intakes, treatment plans and progress notes.
• Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation
• Case management including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care.
• Participate weekly in mandatory supervision.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling
• Preferably able to work 15-20-hours weekly
• Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance needed upon hire
• Ability to work independently as well as communicate emergency situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with various theoretical approaches.
