Job summary

TalkNY Therapy in the United States seeks an LMHC to provide in-person professional counseling at a residential facility, including assessment, counseling, case management, and care coordination.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.
  • 2–3 years of experience in mental health services, case management, or program coordination.
  • Experience in clinical or community mental health settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care and support for individuals with mental health needs.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulations related to mental health care.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and standard office software.

  • Complete progress notes within 24 hours of time of service.
  • Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation.

Job description

The LMHC will provide in-person professional counseling services, including assessment, counseling, case management, and care coordination to a patient population living in a residential facility. The therapist will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that address the patient’s psychosocial needs, promote well‑being, and support overall treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case management including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care.

  • Experience working in clinical or community mental health settings preferred.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulations related to mental health care.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Physical Requirements:

This position primarily operates in an office environment. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer and other standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or move items up to 10–15 pounds. Walking, bending, and standing may be required.
