Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement treatment plans and educate patients and families, while documenting progress and supporting community education initiatives.

The role requires an OTA associate degree and BLS, with NBCOT preferred. On-site daytime schedule, with comprehensive benefits from day one and opportunities for growth within the care team.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with common software.
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.
• Entry level knowledge of principles of occupational therapy for therapeutic diagnostics and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist; and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Uses appropriate therapy procedures, documents data, and follows individualized care plans set by the occupational therapist.
• Provides patient and family education, including home exercise programs for treatment carryover into the discharge setting.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
• Conducts age-appropriate assessments and interventions, completing annual age-specific competencies relevant to the scope of care.
• Acts as a clinical instructor and provides mentorship to students and new staff, fostering a supportive and educational environment.
