Job summary

Vale Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our compassionate team in California. The OTA will administer treatments, perform assessments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of clinicians to support residents’ care plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.
