Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant state license or license eligibility.
  • Ability to lift and assist residents; stand for extended periods.
  • Computer proficiency to document in an electronic medical record platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Follow individualized treatment plans developed by the OT to help residents improve independence and safety.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of treatments and resident progress.
  • Communicate regularly with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team about progress and needs.
  • Lead wellness programs and community events promoting independence and mobility.

Vertis Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team at an assisted living and memory care community in Naples, Florida. Vertis Therapy is launching its therapy program at this community in mid-October, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of the program from the start. This beautiful community offers a welcoming, comfortable environment with thoughtfully designed spaces for both assisted living and memory care residents. You’ll have the opportunity to help establish and grow the therapy program while providing meaningful, resident-centered care.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will carry out individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, provide skilled occupational therapy interventions, monitor and document resident responses to treatment, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The COTA will communicate with the Occupational Therapist regarding resident progress, changes in functional status, and any concerns related to the established plan of care.

Responsibilities:
Treatment:

Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Follow individualized treatment plans developed by the OT to help residents improve independence, safety, functional abilities, and quality of life.

Documentation:

Complete timely and accurate documentation of treatments provided, resident response to therapy, and progress toward established goals.

Collaboration:

Communicate regularly with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress, response to treatment, and any changes in functional status or needs.

Professional Development:

Participate in team development meetings, training opportunities, and continuing education activities to maintain clinical knowledge and support quality patient care.

Wellness Programming:

Participate in and regularly lead community-wide wellness programs and events that promote functional independence, safety, mobility, and overall well-being.

Qualifications:
Education:

Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Licensure:

Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant state license or license eligibility.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and assist residents as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.

Technology:

Computer proficiency to document in an electronic medical record platform.
